Friday April 20
Tim is back from beautiful Aruba, and is recharged and ready to go! Here are his MLS Fantasy picks for Round 8!!
Thursday April 19
Unfortunately not a real ‘warm hello’ coming at ya from the Northeast, but we are back at it again with another edition of our Parsing the Percentages series. We have once again examined the Vegas betting landscape to determine which MLS players should be on your MLS Fantasy team this weekend!
We've enjoyed great success with our selections dedicated in this series so far in 2018, and we look to continue that as we get ready to step into Round 8. This weekend, the oddsmakers are leaning heavily toward New York Red Bulls and Seattle Sounders FC.
Wednesday April 11
Good morning and happy match day!!! It is currently 2pm as I type this from 30,000 feet on my JetBlue flight to Aruba for a much-needed vacation!
Of course, the first day of this vacation comes at the same time as the first Wednesday night match of the MLS season as RSL visits Yankee Stadium. NYCFC are the first team to have a Double Gameweek this season, so MLS Fantasy managers should strongly consider bringing the maximum number of players (4) into their lineups.
Therefore, we decided to put together a quick list ranking which players we believe should be in your lineups this round!
Thursday April 5
Good morning and happy matchday to all of the MLS Fantasy managers out there! Round 6 kicks off on a Friday night once again as the Montreal Impact travel to Foxboro to take on the New England Revolution. The first match of the weekend kicks off at 7:30pm EST, and there are quite a few intriguing options in this one!
Lineups will be announced at 6:30pm EST, so be sure to check back in afterwards as our picks may change as a result. Nevertheless, the below lineup should be very close to what our final lineup will look like:
Thursday April 5
A warm welcome and happy April to all MLS Fantasy managers once again! We're back with another edition of our Parsing The Percentages series, where we take a look at the Vegas betting landscape and use it to determine which MLS players should be on your fantasy squads!
Last weekend, our selections of Toronto FC and Sporting Kansas City paid off quite handsomely as both clubs picked up wins at home. This weekend, the oddsmakers are leaning much further south, as Atlanta United and FC Dallas are the two clubs strongly favored in Round 6.
Friday March 30
March 30, 7:05pm EST UPDATE: Clint Irwin (4.5m) gets the start over Alex Bono, our lineup has been adjusted accordingly. Quite a bit of switcheroo savings thanks to TFC's Friday Night lineup!!
MLS Fantasy is back once again this weekend, but with a slight adjustment: the first match of Round 5 kicks off on a Friday, instead of a Saturday! Mike Petke's Real Salt Lake takes the trip north of the border to visit Toronto FC for an inter-conference Friday Night showdown, so if you are planning on bringing in players from either club, be sure to do so before 8pm EST!
Naturally, given the Fantasy MLS format this season, we have arranged our lineup in a fashion that it allows us to be pretty flexible and make changes. We'll get into the nitty-gritty behind that below.
Without further ado, here's how we're lined up ahead of tonight's lineup announcements:
Thursday March 29
MLS Fantasy is back early this week, which means that we're back a little bit earlier this week with our Parsing the Percentages series. Last week, our selections of New York Red Bulls and Columbus Crew SC paid off very handsomely for fantasy owners, as both clubs cruised to very convincing home victories in Round 4.
For Round 5, we have chosen Toronto FC and Sporting KC as our two selections for Round 5's edition of PTP. Oddsmakers and FiveThirtyEight give each of these clubs very strong odds at an outright victory this coming weekend. As such, we recommend allocating MLS Fantasy funds towards their players - we break down which specific players we favor below.
Thursday March 22
The numbers are in, the odds are out, and we're ready to go once again with our Parsing The Percentages series!!
For Round 4, we've selected the New York Red Bulls and Columbus Crew SC as our top two clubs this weekend. Oddsmakers across the board have given each of these teams well above a 50% chance of winning outright. Should each of these teams manage to come away with a win, MLS Fantasy who loaded up on players from each of these teams would be primed to come away with some big fantasy points. So without further ado, let's jump on in to our picks!
Wednesday March 21
It's that time of the season again: the March International Call-Ups are upon us! Long-time MLS Fantasy managers are quite familiar with this dance: just a few games in to the season, lineups are shaken up for one or two rounds thanks to the FIFA window.
MLS offers a pretty good summary of the call-ups for each team on their website, which can come in handy for most managers. Unfortunately, this page isn't very user-friendly as managers have to do a considerable amount of scrolling to consume all of the players that are away.
This is where we come in. We've compiled a spreadsheet that allows MLS Fantasy managers to quickly review both the players that are away and when we expect them to return. I'll be adding a Google Docs link to this piece later this evening, but in the interim, you can find a screenshot of the table after the jump below!
